Pittsburgh Reverse Painted Swan, Lake, Stream, Birds, Trees Scenic Lamp - Dolphin Base - 18 inch

Offered is a Stunning 18" Reverse/Obverse Painted Lamp by the Pittsburgh Lamp & Brass Company. The satin glass scenic shade depicts a couple by the water, among ruins - swans on a lake - a stream, and birds flying. Towering trees also grace the scene. The obverse painting is of the small birds, which give some additional dimension to the scene.

The base is triangular with three dolphin supports. The coloring is dark green/black on brass, iron and cast white metal. Appears to be the original colors. Under/inside of base and cast iron loader are marked PLB&G Co. (The Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass & Glass Company)

There is wear to the finish on some metals as might be expected. The shade is perfect, no cracks or chips and no repainting. The finial appears to be a replacement, but is as old as the lamp. Has been fully rewired (including the 3 pull chain fat-boy sockets) and is in perfect working order. The pull chains all work smoothly, and have new paper insulators.

Measures 25-1/2"H overall and 18"W. May require two boxes to ship safely.

Pair Imperial Thunderbolt Nucut Crystal Vases - Scarce Size

Offered is a very scarce pair of vases in the Thunderbolt pattern of the Nucut line by Imperial Glass.

It's fairly easy to find the 9-1/4" tall vases, but these are 12-1/2"H, and very difficult to find one, let alone a pair. Imperial made some beautiful glass in the Nucut line, very clear and sparkly. These date to about 1910 or so, and have survived all these years with no cracks or chips. Perhaps a few insignificant scratches, and typical age-related wear on the bottoms from being moved around.

Some pictures may show some black or bright white spots, but these are only reflections.

The measure 12-1/2"H x about 6"W overall, and 4-1/2"W at the opening.

Petite Antique French Picture Frame - Gilt Brass - Flowers & Bow Filigree

Offered is a petite gilded brass or bronze picture frame with cast filigree all around. The filigree shows a bow with leaves and flowers. Inside, behind the yellow.white paper and old photo appears to be the original green paper backing (2nd photo).

On the back is the original brass easel stand. The back pops off to add a photo of your choice.

Still retains some of the gilding, though is not quite as bright as the first photo. The color is more closely matched to the 7th photo. Great condition for a 100+ year old frame.

Pair Antique Pottery Vases - North Wind Faces

Offered is a pair of antique pottery vases with north wind faces, branch-form handles with vines, and hand painted florals and bees. They date to the late 19th to early 20th century. Painted with pink highlights on a cream background.

One vase is virtually perfect, and one has suffered some damage (on left in pictures 1, 2 and 3). One handle was broken into several pieces and then glued back together. The same vase has a hairline and nick just above the face (see on left in picture 2). Could be restored if desired, but it does display well.

Both are marked with some impressed and artist ink marks, one is marked PALERMO with an Anchor in a Circle (mark is unknown, but the vases appear to be French or English in origin).

They stand 15"H.

The 5/8" tempered glass top has high-quality serpentine edge.

Pair Mid-Century Rattan Tables - Smokey Bronze Mirror Tops

Offered is a pair of Vintage, Mid-Century Mirror Top Rattan End/Side Tables.

What a super set of side tables. In their original walnut brown finish, with smokey/bronze mirrors.

One of the tables has a partial original label on the bottom 'Rattan Classics By" and then what appears to be part of "Furniture". Unsure of the maker, but very well made sometime around the 1950s or so.

No missing rattan wraps, and they are in great condition. Could use some detail cleaning/polishing, as they have some typical age related wear in the form of some scratches and rubs along some of the edges. The mirrors are virtually blemish free.

Oddly enough, one of the tops (under the mirrors) is plywood and one is particle board, but that does not detract from them since is covered by the mirrors. One is also about 1/2" shorter, but since they will not likely be used right next to each other, should not be an issue.

Pair Large Blue Seguso Murano Glass Ducks

These pretty ducks have Mid-Century Modern 'written all over them'. Clean blue, with a light Sommerso effect, and gold flakes.

One measures 8-7/8"H, and the other is 8-5/8"H. Combined, they weigh 10.1 pounds.

There are no chips or cracks. There are some very light surface scratches, which is somewhat typical of older Murano glass, which may not have been in one owners hands since created. Also noted are manufacturing polish marks and dimples.

Set of Six Original 1930s Lightolier Art Deco Slip Shade Sconces – Modern Art Series, Model 6158

This is a rare set of six original 1930s Lightolier wall sconces, model 6158, from the company's celebrated Modern Art Series. These striking fixtures are listed in Lightolier's 1934–1935 Style Book and represent a defining example of American Art Deco lighting design. We happen to have a pair of the matching fiuxtures from the same catalog (although the ceiling fixtures appear to be the antique gold finish -- they were removed from the same home.

Each sconce features a radial cast metal backplate finished in silver tone, paired with original slip shades etched in a stylized Deco motif (note that two shades are lighter than the others). The sharply angled glass and sculptural lines reflect the Machine Age aesthetic at its best.

From the original Lightolier catalog: "Radial design to backplate and geometric contours of frosted glass make this a perfect example of modern decoration."

This set has been completely rewired, and include the original and more modern mounting hardware
- Original porcelain sockets have been cleaned and rewired
- Original rotary switches have been rebuilt and rewired (necessary for safety)

The sconces use intermediate base T6.5 bulbs, which are still readily available. We recommend dimmable LED T6.5 bulbs in daylight white for a crisp modern effect, or warm white for a period-correct glow.

All six sconces retain their original glass shades, which are in excellent condition overall with only minor nick on the bottom of one, which is not seen when installed. A minor nick at the top of one, and a very small fleabite on the side of another. The silver-toned backplates have varying degrees of aged patina, consistent with their age. The metal finish has been cleaned and sealed with satin finish.

This is a true set—not assembled from separate sources—ideal for historic home restorations, upscale interiors, or collectors of authentic period lighting. These were in use until the day they were removed.

The Capitol Arm Chair by The Hitchcock Chair Company

Offered is a Hitchcock Hand-Painted Armchair with Capitol Backrest and Rush Seat.

This classic chair features hand-stenciled decoration throughout. The backrest displays a hand-painted image of the U.S. Capitol Building, flanked by laurel wreaths, with an eagle motif on the top slat. It has a black lacquered finish with gold detailing on the legs, stretchers, and arms.

Hitchcock chairs are known for their exceptional quality and craftsmanship, made of maple and often passed down as heirlooms.

Condition:
Excellent overall. There are a few minor rubs along the top edge of the backrest, a small area of missing gold striping on right arm, and a chip in the lacquer, also on the right arm that has been poorly touched up with a marker. These could be restored if desired. The chair is structurally sound, and the rush seat is in excellent condition. It appears to have seen little to no use.

Large Russian Soviet Era Cut Crystal Urn or Jar with Bronze Mounts

This elegant Soviet-era cut crystal urn features deeply cut geometric and swirling ribbon patterns on high-quality leaded glass, paired with a matching faceted lid. Antique Bronze E. F. Caldwell 5 Light Fixture - Petite

Offered is a petite bronze 5 light fixture by the renowned New York form of Edward F. Caldwell. The last photo shows the screenshot from the Caldwell digital collection at the Smithsonian.

Note the fixture originally was not fitted with shades. We had this fairly scarce set of Fostoria Iris Heart & Vine art glass shades, with the center one being larger -- this made it a no-brainer to fit the shades to this chandelier. The fixture was not altered to fit these shade - the husks sit on the fitters, which are screwed onto the original brass collars from the husks. Putting this back to the original bare bulb style would take less than 10 minutes. Fixture retains its aged old patina, sealed in satin lacquer.

Small shades are 4-1/2"H x 4-3/4"W

All shades are crack free, and have a small amount of threads missing, as one might expect. One small shade has a very small fitter chip, which is of no consequence. There are a few scratches and a couple dings, but nothing out of the ordinary.

A delightful fixture for a small room, entryway or stairwell.

100% rewired, with the original General Electric sockets (with mica insulators) reconditioned with new papers.

Of course, we recommend only LED bulbs in these well over 100 year old fixtures.

Antique Victorian Brass & Beveled Glass Fireplace Fire Screen

Offered is a Antique Victorian Brass & Beveled Glass Fireplace Screen.

This fireplace screen is a great decorative and functional addition to any fireplace. Made of solid brass or bronze, it features detailed floral patterns around the beveled glass grid panel, which reflects light nicely.

The screen stands on sturdy scrolled feet and has a built-in handle for easy moving (we say easy, but this is a heavy screen, weighing about 53 pounds). The organic pierced brass design along the bottom adds some extra style.

Still has many generations of use ahead.

Mostly everything is original. The two balls that hold the handle secure are replacements, as there were just nuts there when we acquired it. We can see there have been some bumps and bruises over the years, likely because it is heavy. The top mounts that hold the screen to the rod have been resoldered, and there are 1 or two beveled panels with a chip. Along the bottom of the hanging screen, each corner has been bumped. There is ample wear to the old polished finish, more in some areas.

Will be shipped flat with the feet removed for safe shipping, and detailed instructions to reinstall the feet (it's a pretty simple thing). The packing will be designed to accommodate easy reassembly of the feet, too.

Harry Spencer Carved Eagle in Flight Turquoise Necklace - Sterling Silver - Navajo

Offered is this vintage Eagle in Flight necklace by Navajo artist Harry Spencer. The eagle is made of carved turquoise and articulated in the sterling silver mount. While the majority of Harry Spencer's carved eagles are found with a silver link chain, this one has a turquoise tube beaded necklace. The beak is mother of pearl and the talons are sterling.

Antique Josef Riedel Bohemian Etched Art Glass & Brass Lamp

Offered is this Antique Josef Riedel Art Nouveau Lamp. It features a Acide Cut Back glass shade in green and pink, with ruby colored glass centers in the flowers. There is also some gilding around the edges of the flower petals. The base is tall with a pull chain down the middle, which operates the standard Edison base socket.

While this lamp is a rarity, you can find Josef Riedel vases with the same overlay pattern (opposite the flowered sides).

The lamp came to us without a socket, so an old one was used, that would work well and have a functional pull chain switch. Has been completely rewired with a brown cloth covered cord-set. The red on the top of each of the three feet did not want to come off. It appears the previous owner may have used candles in those spots, but it's just a hunch. The washer/felt spacers under the top of the shade are replacements, which is not uncommon for a lamp of this age.
